Purple Heart Humor
Salon.com produced these available here. They have about half a dozen slides, but I enjoyed these the most.
In reality, the severity of a wound is not a consideration in the awarding of a Purple Heart. One requirement for a PH to be awarded is that the wound must be the result of enemy fire. In the December 2, 1968 engagement, John Kerry was the only person reporting return fire. Everyone else with him reported that the wound was probably the result of a grenade thrown by Kerry himself.
